katja photo croppedKatja Jacobsen was introduced to yoga 9 years ago. From a young age she was exploring spirituality, connections to nature, universality, ceremony, consciousness and community.

That deeper level of understanding comes from her heart connection—her inner wisdom which calls and guides her on an evolving path . This journey has lead her to study and understand the link between the body and mind through the science of yoga, focusing especially on the aspects and benefits of the breath, called Pranayama.

Katja is spreading the wonders of authentic hatha yoga in her classes to expand the awareness of ones body, mind and most importantly the store houses of powerful energy fields, called Chakras.

She teaches breathing techniques to balance opposing forces of yin and yang energy in the body and Yoga Nidra, a guided visualization technique that relaxes both body and the mind.

The teachings are created for your personal development. As a result, the practice will increase inner strength and inspire to self-exploration.

By connecting with one’s heart and inner being it is possible to create a life that is abundant, balanced, and full of purpose. Recognizing one’s inner light—not through ego but rather through compassion and authenticity is the gift of yoga.

The yoga Katja teaches is inspired from Swami Satyananda, at the Bihar School of Yoga in Rikkhia, Bihar India, where she received her initial training, also by Sanjeev Bhonat, the founder of Yoga Life and Swami Janakananda from the Scandinavian Yoga and Meditation School.

To seek harmony, balance and wholeness is a multi-dimensional approach that requires attention, awareness and commitment. Katja is profoundly dedicated to sharing her knowledge and caring approach with those who are seeking to grow and heal themselves.

Katja will be offering Anahata Yoga and Mandala workshops at Domaine en Praël on dates to be confirmed in addition to the May 2010 programme.
