WRITERS RETREAT

Maybe you are already a writer, maybe you are published, or maybe you have been thinking about writing or are simply interested to explore your own creative writing. This Writers' Retreat could be the catalyst you are seeking.

Join us for a weekend of guided learning, group discussion and contemplative time for writing and weather permitting, walking the labyrinth for additional inspiration and insight.

Writing is a negotiation...

Writing is a negotiation ...

...between the hidden places of the mind, from which dreams come, and the shaping faculties of conscious thought.

...between the urge to create and the ambition for an effective relationship with the reader

...between alchemy and craft.

Most of us do our writing alone.  We think carefully about showing our work in progress to other people.  We need an environment in which it can be read with empathy and rigor by fellow writers, equally committed to the process.

During this retreat we'll find time for the big questions of theme, plot and structure, and the small questions of word-choice and suntax.  Well also talk a voice and point of view, how to write dialogue, build a scene, control the pace.  We'll get in touch with what inspires us.  We'll create the space in which to write.

When:  Saturday and Sunday 12 - 13th JUne 2010

Timing:  09:00 h  - 19:00 Saturday | 08:00 h - 17:00 h Sunday

Cost:  Chf 690  including lunch and breaks. Dinners to be arranged at local restaurant.
